How can you tell if my child is ready to learn piano? |

Children do not have to be a specific age, but they do have to be in a developmental stage called Pre-Operations. Preoperations starts during the time that the child is nearly three, but still two. Children in Preoperations (see our Cognitive Development page) have the ability to interact meaningfully with another person, whereas children, before preoperations, cannot interact in a manner by which they can be taught to play the piano.
Attend our Open House with your child. By observing your child, we can tell if that child is ready to participate in our program as we offer here. We cannot, however, make predictions to you about other phases of your child's education based on one interview. What we can do is tell you whether they are ready to work within our system.
If your child is not yet ready, we will work with you to monitor your child until he or she is ready.
