Finale Performance Assessment develops music sightreading skills. Our students use it at home when doing their sightreading assignments.
They provide this software at no cost to be used for educational purposes. It's great because it provides immediate feedback on note & rhythm performance of our sightreading assignments. It requires a computer, digital piano or MIDI keyboard, and a MIDI connection.

Finale Notepad is easy-to-use music notation software that is available at very low cost. Our students use this for writing music composition assignments. MIDI keyboard for this software is optional since notes can be entered using a mouse. In fact, some students report that using a mouse for notation is a bit easier.
